Little Blessings.

Greetings and Salutations! (I’ve been listening to Adventures in Odyssey )

I have so much to share!! I don’t even know where to begin. Hmmm, well to start with, God is amazing. He’s been doing so much in my life. One of my classes at my Christian College is requiring all of us to read the whole New Testament. It’s absolutely fantastic, because I’ve been spending hours falling in love with my Jesus.

Another thing is I’m preparing to go to Africa! That’s been an interesting battle between my flesh and the spirit. My flesh wants to stress and freakout about all the finances, but the Holy Spirit keeps reminding me to trust that God will supply if it’s His will.

Oh and my parents are coming up this Friday!!! AHHHHHHH. They’ve never come to visit me at the school. I can’t wait to get to see them.

This semester is going by so fast. Midterms are in a week, spring break is in 27 days and I’m starting to run out of laundry quarters. Bleh.

My weekly meets with my mentor, Linda, are just swell. She’s been such a blessing in my life. Every week she prays for me and shares some godly wisdom. Oh and she taught me how to make really cute cards. It’s such a refresher.

Jeremiah House is becoming more special to me. I’m starting to honestly love my girls that I teach. God’s put a huge burden on my heart. I feel blessed that He’s using me in their lives.

In my Doctrine class we’ve been learning the importance of being able to know the historical and biblical evidence for the resurrection of Christ. That’s been awesome.

Basically, God is working a lot of little blessings together to shape me into a better servant. He’s making the Bible come alive and the ministry around me. In Matthew when Jesus took Peter, James and John on the Mount of Olives they were freaking out because of the glory of God. “But Jesus came and touched them and said ‘Arise, and do not be afraid.’ When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.” Matt. 17:7-8

Right now, I’m working on seeing no one but Jesus only.

Guten Tag! (My roommate is from Austria, so I’m working on my German.)

Well, it’s that time of the year again, love is in the air. The birds are chirping, the bees are singing and little naked babies are shooting people with arrows. <3 Ok…not so much. We’ve been getting unbelievable amounts of snow; I haven’t seen any birds, bees or naked babies, but somewhere I’m sure those things are happening. Actually, the “time” I was referring to is Missions Conference.

“What’s Missions Conference?” you ask. Ahem, Missions Conference is a week of awesome. Bunches of missionaries come to my school (another reason why I love going to a Christian College) and talk to us about all sorts of ministry opportunities. Even if you don’t feel called to the mission field it’s marvelous to hear all the stories about how God works in outstanding ways.

However, there’s always some serious┬áself-evaluanting that goes down during the conference. “Would you do anything or go anywhere if God is calling you?” is the number one question of the week. Enjoying listening to adventurous people doing mighty works for God isn’t the most important part, but being willing to allow the Holy Spirit to move you as He pleases is.

So, with that being said, I will be doing a lot of praying this coming week for a heart that will be open to God’s guidance. I was reading “Crazy Love” by Francis Chan and this quote really stuck out to me. “My existence was not random, nor was it an accident. God knew who He was creating, and He designed me for a specific work.”

God has a plan for each and every one of us, but I have to ask myself how often I care. Most of the time I chose my own “plan.” HA…like I know better than God. I’m excited about a week of growing and taking a good look at my heart.
