Rattlesnakes, High-schoolers and Midterms.

Hello out there!

It’s been a busy couple of weeks. My school has had many visitors; the first being an army of rattlesnakes. If you want to see girls freaking out, put up rattlesnake warning signs all over the place. I’ve had nightmares!! However, I haven’t actually seen one, nor do I plan on it.

The other visitors we had were 200 high-school students. I’m not sure which was more frightening, the rattlesnakes or the high-schoolers (just kidding.) They all came out for an event the Christian College I go to puts on called “Focus.” It’s just a chance for people to come check out the school. My room-mates and I had an extra 4 girls staying in our room, making a grand total of eight. Needless to say, the energy and noise level was way up.  In all seriousness, it was really cool to see so many kids considering coming to a Christian College. Sometimes it feels like Christians are dying out or something, but nope. It  also was encouraging to hear the hearts of other young people who love Jesus. :)

But now we have…DUN DUN DUN…midterms! Ah yes, those wonderful little darlings. We had our first one today. It’s crazy to think this semester is half way over. Time goes by so fast. Looking back on it all, I’m realizing how much I’ve already grown. Just the fact that I have enough knowledge, hopefully, to take a midterm blows my mind. I think someone pressed the fast-foward button, they should be slapped. I guess that’s what growing up is all about, trying to trust God to keep you from stressing out and slapping the person who pressed the fast-forward button.

“Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

The awesome thing is that even with rattlesnakes, high-schoolers and midterms God is still God. No matter what the noise level is in my dorm or the lack of sleep I get. To that I say “Amen!”
